Suffering withdrawal?

The Warby trail was pretty empty the ofher day and 1.5 m apart is almost the expected riding gap between players. To be really isolated, go the Woori - Mt Evelyn way. Everyone does the easier Woori to Warburton bit.

Emerald to Gembrook, or even to Cocktoo via Wright Forest to get toilet paper from Aldi, is a solitary ride.

Emerald to Macclesfield is a short 12km top up and you will be all by yourself. Track from Emerald to Avonsleigh. Road thereafter. Few cars at the  best of time and a wide road. Scavenge the Avonsleigh store on the way through or drop in and commiserate with Henk.

The Emerald - Upper Beac - Cardinia Dam wall - Emerald, is good for the heart rate, and there is some verge to ride on. Bugger all traffic. Main dangers are Kangaroos.

And, is you like stop start riding, there is always Belgrave (or Upper FTG) to Jells Park and back. Just go along the railway line to the turn off before Boronia. Of coarse there is always the mind numbing Stud Road alternatve.

I have feeling the Dandy Creek trail ala the night ride, may be busy with strollers and prams.

Any other ideas to sustain one's hard earned fitness from preceding rides?

Alt. Thursday Gembrook ride

Two surviving members of the Alt Thurs. group completed the Emerald - Gembrook ride, without causing mayhem, such as wasn't the case with some of the Alt Thurs group on the Rotary ride.

Rumour has it that Henk staged a spectacular dismount at a railway crossing, managing to place himself in  hospital with several ribs in the wrong place and leaving multiple patches of epidermis on the road. In so doing, he shared the exercise with other select members of the Alt Thurs.group, though he spared them the hospital sojourn; (Peter D and Kirsten for starters).

Hmmmm,! Werner and I felt  justifiably self righeous when we traversed Emerald to Gembrook and back, without incident. We even managed to cross railway tracks and stay upright.

Get well as soon Henk. Enjoy your enforced six week isolation and we look forward to your return.

Helen's ride last Thursday

Mixed group of eleven left Bayswater as planned arriving at Mullum Mullum Reserve in record time.
Following meet up with Ghosties all proceeded onto Diamond Creek coffee venue via various routes, with a select few taking in the Aquaduct circuit.
All participants managed to safely traverse the fallen tree incident on the return journey. Great weather for a quite special cycle track.
