What with indecision as to whether or not to wear a rain jacket, 5 took off from the Cardinia dam wall, on an unknown route to Brown's ochard and an equally unknown route back to the Cardinia dam.. Mike had sussed the route using the infallible Google Maps as his guide.
Our climbing fitness was tested by the multiple short hills the littered our journey along with "No Thru road" signs that Google did not know about..
The sight of hill number N+1 caused the group to split. Enough was the plaintiff cry. The brave tackled the hill. The others found an easier route which, in the long run, turned in to a loop taking them back to a earlier part of our journey. Thus they repeated many of the hills they had climbed earlier.
Meanwhile, the brave who tackled the hill, found that said hill promptly fattened out. So they just cruised back to the cars and waited, and waited, and waited, basking in the warm sun whilst awaiting the itinerants.
The highlight of course was adjourning to Werner's place for coffee, broad beans, a Bex Powder and a lie down.
